Terms of Service

1. Who can use Playdex

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need permission from a parent or guardian.
• You may only have one account unless we allow otherwise, and you may not create an account after we have suspended you.

2. Your account

• Keep your login details safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
• Give accurate information when you sign up and keep your email address up to date.
• Do not pick a username or display name that pretends to be someone else or breaks the Community Guidelines.
• You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you post on Playdex, such as reviews, ratings, lists, comments, profile text and images.

By posting content, you give Playdex a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display and share it on the site and its features, such as link previews, share cards, the Discord bot and notifications. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where it has already been shared by others or must be kept for legal reasons.

Only post content you have the right to share. You are responsible for what you post.

4. Game information

Game details, covers and release dates come from IGDB and from community submissions. We try to keep them accurate, but we cannot promise that they are complete or correct.

Game names, artwork and trademarks belong to their owners. Playdex is not affiliated with any game publisher, store or platform unless we say so.

Submissions and edits you make to game pages may be reviewed, changed or removed by moderators.

5. Things you must not do

• Break the Community Guidelines or any law.
• Try to access accounts, data or parts of the site you are not allowed to.
• Scrape, crawl or copy the site in bulk, or overload it with automated requests.
• Interfere with the site, its servers or other people using it.
• Use Playdex to send spam or advertising.

6. Connected services

You can link services such as Steam and Discord. When you do, you also follow their terms. We are not responsible for those services, and features that rely on them may stop working if they change.

7. Moderation and suspension

We may remove content, limit features or suspend or delete accounts that break these terms or the Community Guidelines. We will try to explain why, but we may act without notice when needed to protect people or the site.

8. Support and donations

Playdex is free to use. Donations through Ko-fi are voluntary, do not buy any extra features or rights and are handled under Ko-fi terms.

9. No warranty

Playdex is provided as it is and as available. We do our best to keep it running and your data safe, but we cannot promise the site will always be available, free of errors or that data will never be lost. Keep your own copy of anything important. You can download your data from your account settings.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Playdex and the people who run it are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any loss caused by content posted by other users or by connected services.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Playdex changes. When we make important changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and may let you know on the site. If you keep using Playdex after a change, you accept the new terms.
